One of my first jobs was rebranding the largest bank in St. Louis. They had hired a high-priced firm to create a new name and logo. It was my full-time task to apply that logo and their standards to every piece of signage, printed brochures, forms and documents, letterhead, business cards and branded merchandise for their employees, corporate and retail clients. In the process, I rewrote and packaged their ads, brochures, proposals, and every other aspect of their printed marketing.
Since then, I have enjoyed creating new logos for a wide variety of clients, large and small. I have spent over 20 years working with a number of promotional products companies applying those logos on everything from T-shirts, hats, mugs, calendars and swag. In the process I must always work within a company’s brand standards.
Corporate Branding includes imprinting logos on appropriate items that can spread goodwill to employees and customers. Assembling the right products and packaging them in a user friendly format can promote a company in a more intimate way than any other advertising. The challenge is always to find products people will love to use and keep around, and using the logo in a way that is appealing.
